This is another little side project I came up with. Last march, on International Women’s Day, I read somewhere that there is a huge spike in searches for “When is international men’s day?”. Men who are jealous of women having a day. I thought this was ridiculous. Why do men need a day’ when women have had to fight so hard (and still are fighting) for equality?
I checked it out on Google Analytics and sure enough it was true. Every year, two spikes. One on the actual International Men’s Day in November, and another, larger spike on International Women’s Day on the 8th of March. Take a look at the graph from Google Trends.
This gave me an idea. What if I were to take advantage of this traffic and use it to help the women’s rights movement? So I bought a domain: www.whenisinternationalmensdays.com. My plan is to create a website full of adverts, the revenue of which will go to a women’s charity such as the #MeToo Movement.
I’m currently in the process of getting the website made, but have designed a mock-up to demonstrate how it could look:
